Serious Gaming With Immersive Views Across The Web

PicLens and ExitView Transforming Viewing Images and Social Networking Into Full 3D Experiences

PicLens, by Cooliris, instantly transforms your browser into a stunning 3D environment where you can effortlessly search, drag, and zoom around thousands of images and videos across the web.

With one click, PicLens makes your online media come to life via a full-screen, cinematic presentation that goes well beyond the confines of the traditional browser. With PicLens, browsing and viewing images on the Web will never be the same again.

This is what you get when you carry out Google Image search for "rainbows" in PicLens

Available as a plugin for Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer, PicLens presents photos on a virtual 3D wall from inside your browser.

When installed, it can be activated when you visit one of the supported sites (Google Images, Flickr, Photobucket, Facebook and MySpace, to name a few). An arrow appears on the images found, and clicking on it will cause the PicLens interface to go full screen.

You can then use a navigator at the base of the wall, click and drag the wall and also use your mouse's scroll wheel to zoom in and out.

Cooliris, Inc. was founded in January 2006 with a simple mantra: "Think beyond the browser".

They focus on creating products that make discovering and enjoying the Web more exciting, efficient, and personal.

Their core products include PicLens, which transforms your browser into an interactive, full-screen "cinematic" experience for web media, and Cooliris Previews, which lets you preview links instantly.

Headquartered in Menlo Park, CA, their team consists of seasoned developers, entrepreneurs, and Stanford computer engineers who are passionate about seeing their products deliver the best experience.

ExitReality promises to transform the social networking experience by offering virtual versions of every social network site profile.

The London, UK headquartered start-up is pitching its product as an interactive value add for any social networking site.

Each space is created on the fly so that every social networking profile has a 3D Space in ExitReality, even if the profiles owner doesn't have an account there.

When the service launches later this year users will be free to visit any virtual representation of a social networking profile without the need to register, but registration will be required for things like chat and customizing a personal space.

ExitReality is a social media platform with an enhanced 3D, multi-user, immersive messaging environment. Within ExitReality:
  • Photo albums that become virtual galleries where you can walk through, admire and even comment on the photos that decorate the wall.
  • Video clips that transform into 3D flat-screen TVs that you can enjoy watching with friends… hey, even fight over the remote.
  • Immersive Messaging where you are able to see and interact with all your friends while chatting with them at millions of locations online.
ExitReality works with leading global social media sites Facebook, Myspace, Friendster, Hi5, Orkut and Bebo.
